Hello duckfans, sort of a half product review half ‘look at this stuff I got’ post here I guess : ]
I’ve maintained a list of 15mm Sci-Fi stores for a while now and there are some I am always quick to recommend to people, first amongst which is the excellent Brigade Models. I’ve had my eye on some of their Neo-Soviet range for quite a while and I recently made an order, figuring I’d use them at 12mm (1/144) scale alongside Heavy Gear miniatures, perhaps as one of the existing but not fleshed out factions, perhaps as an entirely new faction.
Here’s what I got, with many more pics after the jump. I should say in advance the quality is generally very good for the price, with a normal amount of cleanup required.
Here’s a model I finished this week. It’s a Fusilier Hovertank for NuCoal in Heavy Gear. The body is in the same dark grey as my other NuCoal tanks, but I wanted to do something special for the hover nacelles – partly because I thought it would look cool, and partly because NuCoal have better access to genuine hover technology than most Terra Novan nations so it would make sense for them to want to show it off! I went with a sky blue scheme and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
I’ve just finished painting a third Klemm light tank and putting the three I now have on bases with mud/grass/tank tracks etc.
I thought I’d take a group shot with the Northern Heavy Tank, the Aller. All the turrets are swappable so I can make any of the variants of the Klemm/Aller. They aren’t particularly stunning paintjobs but I quite like the way they turned out.
As usual I include a gear and some infantry for scale (which is 1/144 by the way).
